Can games be played with just the remote? Or do you have to use another controller with the remote to play games?
If another controller is needed with the remote, how are games played; by using a selection of buttons from the remote and then the other controller?

There are games that use only the Wiimote and,Wiimote plus Nunchuck.
But in special games you can use all four controllers,Wiimote,Wiimote plus Nunchuck,Classic controller and Nintendo Game cube controller.
It’s better have twoo wiimote’s and two nunchuck’s.

Most of the games can be played by just the Wii-mote.
Some games require a nunchuck to be with the Wii-mote ( there is a wire between them) For example in Wii sports, there is boxing. Boxing requires both. To play, you move the wii-mote as your right-hand and the nunchuck for your left ( or vice-versa)

all games use the wii remote which comes with the console, but with other certain games you will need the nunchuk which is plugged in to the bottom of the remote. for these games you usually use the A and B button on the wii remote and the joystick type button on the nunchuk. There are also other buttons on the nunchuk, but iv not got a game that used them so i cant help u in that area. For mario kart wii, u may want to buy the wii wheel ( or it will come free wit the game) because it helps a lot. Some people also buy the wii sports pack which has attachments like a tennis racket, golf club etc. For fishing games you buy a fishing rod attachment, and for some shooting type games you buy a gun or crossbow attachment.
that’s all i know ( which i think is quite good considering im a mother of 4 in her 30s!)
hope this helps!

you might need the nunchuk so you can play games like Mario Galaxy. Yes. On the nunchuck, there’s a control stick so you can move, and then there’s the regular wiimote that has your a button and such. The nunchuk just plugs into the back of the wiimote and they work together, with one in your left hand and the other in your right.

Most games use just the Wii-mote and the Nunchuck. Some games however require the Classic controller to play, but not many
