I got FFVII from ebay and Ive never beaten it. I play it on my ps2 but it always freezes IN ONE SPOT SIGH. I have the ps3 that plays both ps1,ps2,ps3 games. Do you think that if I bought a device to transfer my PS memory card to ps3 it wont scratch as much?

Clean the disc with some CD cleaner and try it in your ps3. The PS3’s Blu-ray player is pretty solid, and it’s more dependable than the ones in some of the PS2 models. My PS2 had some problems with certain games freezing in spots or refusing to play at all. It would make a grinding noise on certain Cds when I put them in. I fixed this by putting pieces of clear tape on the top of the CDs around the center hole.
You see, my PS2’s problem was that the part that gripped the cd was slipping. And whenever certain CDs needed to speed up or slow down during certain parts of the game, the player couldn’t grip it right, would make a grinding noise, and the game would freeze. Putting the tape on there let it hold on better.

i don’t think it would, the ps3 does have the BLU-RAY laser that is a lot better than a normal disc reader.
