Is it possible? We have so many people buying airsoft for expensive prices, why? When they can just own the real thing?

No, you definitely cant, you can’t even kill a human being with an airsoft rifle, or even kill a squirrel (unless shot several hundred times….) People who say why not own a real gun don’t understand the whole point of view.
.
Airsoft is MILSIM or Military Simulation, its for fun and for traning exercises where everyone benefits so when there is an actual battle, people are prepared. People in the US Military use MILES, would you really think the Military will give people rifles to shoot each other while training? There would be no one in Iraq

Yes it is possible. I, myself have taken down 37 elephants with the airsoft, 5 of them while charging. There may be just a few that will disagree with me, but I consider the airsoft rifle the ultimate elephant gun. Plus the ammo is fairly cheap! On my next safari I will try and take the big 5 with my trusty airsoft. Elephant, lion, cape buffalo, Rhino and Leopard. And perhaps a side trip to India and add a Bengal Tigar to the collection.

It is possible, but you’re more likely to win the lottery 10 times in a row.
An airsoft gun won’t even kill a small bird. It’s a plastic bb going 300 fps. How’s it going to take down an animal that generally weighs over 10,000 pounds? The airsoft bb would just bounce off the elephant’s skin.
Airsoft guns have a very short range. That would mean you’d need to get in close for the bb to even reach. Not only that, you’d only be annoying a 14,000 pound animal with large tusks. When that elephant decides they don’t like things bouncing off them, they’ll charge, most likely killing you in the process.

no it isnt, also people get airsoft guns because you can shoot at people with them as a game unlike any real gun which would kill the person
also speaking of elephants anyone here think it would be fun to get a crappy .22 and use low powered .22 shorts to shoot at elephants

Yes.
No laws against winding up as elephant toe-jam
are on the books last I looked.
As to the cost of air-soft equipment.
It’s a sport.
Hate to tell you what I spent on a dedicated sillhouette
gun good for little else.

No, there are no airsoft guns with the penetraiting power to “hunt” an elephant with..also in africa you are required to have over a .375 cal. weapon to legally hunt dangerous game

I SAY TO YOU ! YES YOU CAN! YES IT IS POSSIBLE BUT YOU WOULD HAVE TO GET LIKE AT 25 YARDS AND AIM AT THE BRAIN AREA (ON THE SIDE OF THE HEAD) OR IN THE FOREHEAD BUT REMEMBER ONLY AT 25 YARDS. AND MAKE SURE YOU SHOOT ALL YOUR MAGAZINE AND PULL WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH

You might annoy it if you hit it in the eye. Some people are into airsoft for the sport, some are into it because the enjoy low recoil, etc.

Of course you can! It isn’t a terribly intelligent thing to do, but occasionally the gene pool needs a good cleaning out.
Shoot straight and …Oh, never mind.
July 11th, 2009 at 9:40 am
Yes, but you have to get reall really close. Then you feen the rifle to the elephant and hope it clogs him up and he dies.
July 11th, 2009 at 4:39 pm
yes you can just aim for the eye while it is charging and will get trampled. Post pics once you have don this and let us know how it worked out.

You can hunt anything you like with anything you like. Success of the hunting trip may not come out as planned.

Heck, you can even hunt elephants with a slingshot if you want to. (Note to self-buy more stock in a funeral home chain).

No its NO WHERE near possible.
And the reason why they buy expensive air soft guns- because they want to, the same reason why I own real guns.

Talk about critical shot placement…

In my day we hunted with nothing but our bare hands and rope.
July 13th, 2009 at 3:16 am
good luck with a .28 gram pellet taking down a 5 ton animal
July 13th, 2009 at 5:57 am
it might tickle them then stomp all over you
July 13th, 2009 at 6:46 am
I wonder why they buy expensive air rifles to.
July 13th, 2009 at 9:51 am
i wonder why people spent 250 on a air soft gun when they could get a 10/22 for less money
